As Kenya heads toward the 2027 elections, our national and county conversations are shifting. Voters are demanding infrastructure that works, economic empowerment that creates opportunities, and leadership that delivers measurable results.

I am grounded in integrity, clarity, and a systems-driven approach to development.

As MCA, I will prioritize:

• 》Upgrading and maintaining key road networks across all our neighbourhoods ensuring seamless connectivity from one neighbourhood to the next to create a web of opportunities.
• 》Improving water supply systems for reliability and household affordability.
• 》Enhancing drainage and walkways to schools for accessibility during rainy days.
• 》Expanding street & market centres lighting and digital connectivity to support safety, trade, and education.

Economic Empowerment That Lifts Households

My economic empowerment agenda focuses on practical, sustainable impact:

• ▪︎Strengthening SMEs and local enterprises.
• ▪︎Supporting youth, women, PLWD, and artisans with access to skills and markets.
• ▪︎Building partnerships that open pathways to digital work, agribusiness, and local manufacturing.
• ▪︎Mobilizing community savings groups and micro-enterprise programs.

Our people want work and systems that support progress — not political rhetoric.

Education is the Bridge to Transformation

Education is the bridge to transformation, yet too many young people in Machakos are still left behind. Under my leadership:

• ☆Every bursary shilling will be transparent and accounted for appropriately.
• ☆We will look for internships, industry linkages, and career placements for all unemployed by developing a workforce employment online system for the residents.
• ☆Community-based scholarships will support needy students.
• ☆Digital learning and mentorship programs will be actively integrated across the Ward.

And most importantly: I will rally fellow Members of the Machakos County Assembly to legislate policies that anchor our education priorities into the County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP). This ensures long-term continuity, funding, and measurable indicators.

The Next Assembly Must:

• ¤Strengthen oversight.
• ¤Improve development planning.
• ¤Enhance citizen participation.
• ¤Demand accountability from the County Executive.
• ¤Align legislation directly with real community needs.

I envision — and will help build — a vibrant Assembly where debates are intelligent, informed, and impact-oriented. An Assembly where motions, bills, and committee work genuinely to uplift Machakos residents.

A message to the people of Joska Market, Utawala estates, Ng’alalya, Ivovoani, Katani, Seme, Manyatta, Mayland and Muthwani — your struggle is real, your voice matters, and 2027 can be our turning point.

For too long, we have woken up to the same hardships. Our children walk on dusty roads in the dry season and sink into mud in the rains. Market merchants in Joska Market, Utawala estates, Ng’alalya, Ivovoani, and Muthwani know the pain of moving goods because most roads are impassable. Public transport ends at Airways, Githunguri, Katani Quarry Road, and Kangundo Road, leaving residents to struggle on Boda bodas just to get home.

Water access from Mavwasco is stalled, leaving homes thirsty for reliable supply. Katani Level 2 Dispensary — meant to serve our community — stands in disarray, forcing mothers, children, and elders to travel far for even the simplest care. These aren’t distant stories — these are our daily realities.

But these daily struggles were not inevitable. They are the result of leadership that promised much but delivered little.

The Cost of Absentee Leadership

Our leaders in the Machakos County Assembly — including past MCAs like George Kingori (2017–2022) and earlier officeholders — sat in powerful committees meant to serve the people yet failed to leverage them for real development. These committees include:

But the results are in front of us — inadequate roads, broken health services, water shortages, and stalled school improvements. The tools were there. The power was there. But the commitment was not.

Committee Power Is Meant to Deliver Results

Today, Hon. Dominic Maitha serves in some of the most strategic committees — and this matters for you:

• 🔹 Chairperson — Committee on Implementation: This committee’s job is to ensure that the County Assembly’s resolutions and Executive decisions are not just passed, but executed. It is where plans become action on the ground.
• 🔹 Labour, Public Service, and ICT Committee: Oversees workers and service delivery systems — a backbone for efficient county services.
• 🔹 Education Committee: Can help ensure that schools are expanded, adequately resourced, and accessible for our children.
• 🔹 Lands and Energy Committee: Oversees electrification projects, land allocation, and infrastructure — key to expanding markets and homes.

Imagine if past leaders had used these same committees with seriousness and urgency. Roads would be smooth, buses would reach further into our neighbourhoods, clinics like Katani Dispensary would flourish, and water would reach every household.

Instead, we stood by as words filled the air but action failed to follow.

Why 2027 Must Be Our Turning Point

2027 is not just another election — it’s our moment of decisive choice. We need a leader who:

• ✔ Understands House Business and Assembly procedures. Someone who doesn’t wait to be told what to do but pushes our urgent needs into the decision agenda.
• ✔ Has a concrete plan READY from day one. No waiting, no delays — roads, schools, health facilities, water systems must be on the implementation schedule from the start.
• ✔ Delivers on promises with urgency and accountability. It’s not enough to talk — we must see visible change in our daily lives.

2027 is the year we say:

We deserve leadership that doesn’t wait for development to filter down — leadership that forces it up and into our communities.
